Who we are

Careful tree work, from a crew that treats your property like its own

Eagle Eye Tree & Land Services is a local, owner-operated tree service working across Sarasota and Charlotte County - from the oaks of Venice, Osprey and Nokomis to the pines and palms of North Port, Englewood, Placida and Port Charlotte. Trimming and pruning, removals, stump grinding, mangrove work, cabling and bracing, and root care.

Most of what we do is everyday care done right: thinning a canopy so it moves with the wind instead of fighting it, taking deadwood out of an oak before it drops, pruning to current industry standards rather than topping a tree and calling it a trim. When a tree genuinely has to come down, we have the rigging and the experience to put it on the ground safely, even in a tight yard.

One thing worth asking any tree company: plenty carry general liability and call themselves fully insured. Far fewer carry workers' compensation. Without it, a crew member hurt on your property can come back on you personally. We carry both, and we're glad to send the certificates before we start.

Mike and Rio did an outstanding job today. They removed three trees, ground six stumps and hauled away all the debris. These men are focused on safety and precision. I will be calling them again in the future for future tree removal and trimming of my palm trees. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful service! I started out just wanting to do two trees and trying to do some of the landscaping work myself, but after I had them get started, I realized how competent they are.

Tree work, done right and cleaned up

Tree Removal

Hazardous, dead, leaning, or just too close to the house - we take trees down in tight spaces without putting your roof, fence, pool cage, or neighbor's property at risk. For trees with no room to drop, we rig them down piece by piece or bring in a crane.

  • Large oak, pine & ficus removals near structures
  • Dead, diseased & lightning-struck trees
  • Leaning & storm-compromised trees before they fall
  • Crane-assisted removals for tight or over-the-roof work
24/7 emergency

Emergency Storm Cleanup

When a hurricane or summer squall drops a tree on your house, car, or driveway, you need someone who answers the phone and shows up. We run emergency crews around the clock during storm season - making the scene safe first, then clearing and hauling everything away.

  • Trees off roofs, vehicles, and across driveways
  • Hanging "widow-maker" limbs made safe
  • Whole-yard debris removal & haul-away
  • Documentation & photos for your insurance claim
Hurricane prep

Trimming & Pruning

The smartest storm prep there is. Thinning a dense canopy lets wind pass through instead of pushing the whole tree over, and removing dead or overhanging limbs now keeps them off your roof later. We prune to current industry standards - never the "hat-rack" topping that weakens a tree and invites rot.

  • Canopy thinning & structural pruning for wind
  • Deadwood & clearance from roofs and lines
  • Oak, palm & ornamental pruning done correctly
Finish the job

Stump Grinding

A leftover stump is a trip hazard, a termite magnet, and an eyesore. We grind stumps below grade so you can replant, re-sod, or just have your yard back - and we clean up the grindings instead of leaving a crater.

  • Grinding below grade for replanting or sod
  • Surface-root grinding along walks & drives
  • Grindings hauled off or backfilled, your choice
Builders welcome

Lot & Land Clearing

Building, expanding, or taking back an overgrown lot? We clear brush, invasive Brazilian pepper and Australian pine, and unwanted trees - working with the county's protected-tree rules, not around them, so your project stays on the right side of the permit.

  • Brush, undergrowth & invasive-species removal
  • Selective clearing that keeps the trees worth keeping
  • Guidance on Sarasota & Charlotte County tree permits
After the storm

How our 24/7 storm response works

When the wind stops, the clock starts. Here's exactly what happens when you call us with a tree down.

You call

Reach a real person any hour during storm season. We triage by danger - trees on homes and blocked exits come first.

Rapid assessment

A crew lead sizes up the hazard, the rigging, and the access, and gives you a straight answer on scope and cost before we cut.

Make it safe

We stabilize and remove the immediate danger - the tree on the roof, the limb over the driveway - so your family and home are secure.

Clean & document

We haul off every branch and log, leave the site clean, and photograph the damage and our work for your insurance claim.

Why homeowners trust us

Local, careful, and fully covered

We're not a storm-chasing outfit that rolls in after a hurricane and disappears. We live here, we work here year-round, and we carry the insurance and credentials to back up every cut.

Where we work

Serving Sarasota & Charlotte County

We work the coast and the communities just inland - from Sarasota and Siesta Key south through Osprey, Nokomis, Venice and Englewood, across North Port, and down into Placida and Port Charlotte.

Sarasota County

Sarasota, Siesta Key, Osprey, Nokomis, Laurel, Venice, Englewood, Casey Key, Manasota Beach and North Port - coastal salt air, sandy soil and mature canopy, which is a combination that needs proper pruning rather than heavy cutting.

Charlotte County

Placida, Port Charlotte and the surrounding communities. Different county, different permit rules - we handle the paperwork side as well as the tree.

Good to know

Questions homeowners ask

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

Sometimes. Both Sarasota and Charlotte County protect certain trees - particularly large grand oaks and mangroves, which have their own state rules on top of the county's. We'll tell you before we start whether your tree needs a permit, and we handle that side of it for you.

Do you handle insurance claims after a storm?

Yes. After a hurricane or a bad storm we photograph the damage and our work and give you clear before-and-after documentation along with an itemized invoice built to be filed. We cannot file the claim for you or negotiate with your adjuster, but we make the tree-damage portion of it straightforward: the photos show what came down and what it hit, and the invoice lines up with the scope, so there is far less for anyone to question. After the big storms we have watched claims stall over vague paperwork, and good documentation is the simplest way to keep yours moving. If your adjuster needs anything else from the tree side of the claim, we are glad to help however we can.

How much does tree removal cost?

It depends on the tree's size, its condition, and how tricky it is to reach - a small backyard tree with open space on all sides is a very different job than a sixty-foot laurel oak leaning over your roof with a pool cage underneath and power lines behind it. Access, drop zone, whether we need to climb and rig or set a crane, and how much debris there is to haul all factor in. That is exactly why every estimate is free and on-site: we look at the actual tree, not a photo, and give you a firm written price with no surprises. You will know the number before we start, and it will not change unless you ask us to do more than we quoted.

Can you get to a tree in a tight backyard or over a pool cage?

That is much of what we do. Tight access, screen enclosures, pool cages, and trees with no room to drop are exactly where careful rigging and crane work earn their keep, and they are everywhere on the Gulf coast. We bring the equipment and the experience to take a tree down in controlled pieces and lower each one safely, rather than dropping it and hoping, or to lift whole sections out over the house with a crane when the yard has no drop zone at all. Whether the tree is boxed in behind a lanai in North Port or hanging over a canal-front deck in Venice, we plan the removal around your property so your roof, cage, and landscaping come through it clean.

Will you clean everything up and haul it away?

Always. Haul-away is included unless you specifically ask us to leave the wood or the mulch for you. When the cutting is done we rake the area, blow off the driveway and walkways, and pick up the debris so your yard looks better than a lot of crews leave a job site. A removal is not finished in our book while there is still a pile of brush and a rutted lawn to remember it by. If you would like the logs cut to firewood length or the chips left as mulch for your beds, just say so and we will leave exactly what you want - otherwise every branch and log goes with us.

Are you fully insured?

Fully - general liability and workers' comp - and we're happy to send both certificates before we start. Worth knowing: a company can say "fully insured" while carrying only general liability. If a crew without workers' comp gets hurt on your property, that can land on you.
